Perhaps one of the most well-known tactical knife designs out there, and for good reason.
The SERE® Operator by Al Mar® is perhaps one of the most well-known tactical knife designs out there, and for good reason. It’s a classic design with great lines, ergonomics, and usefulness. It was recognized as a great design by Colonel James “Nick” Rowe, who is credited with designing some of the US Army’s SERE training at Camp Mackall.
In 2016 TOPS began working with the owner of Al Mar® Knives, to begin manufacturing the Mini SERE® Operator in the USA. The Mini SERE® Operator is the same design as the original, but somewhat smaller. This makes it an excellent EDC tool in addition to an easily concealable self-defense knife. The 1/8” thick blade is extremely sharp with a tip and false edge (that can be sharpened upon request) that are great for stabbing and slashing. The handles are thin and comfortable in forward and reverse grips. TOPS’ version is made with 154cm steel, Black G10 handles, and a Kydex belt sheath.
