The TOPS/Buck Nighthawk is a durable, fixed-blade knife designed for heavy-duty use. With thick, stout blade and a non-reflective finish, the Nighthawk was designed for tactical use under demanding conditions. The Nighthawk was also designed for a sure grip in varying elements, including water. The ergonomic handle is made of reinforced molded nylon with rubberized grip and strategically placed grip nodules. The thumb rest is perfectly placed to hold the thumb in a power position. The combination of handle features creates a knife with a non-tiring feel in long duration activities. The blacked out handle and blade blend into the environment without attracting unwanted attention. Also incorporated in the design is the TOPS blade slot for wire bending, adjusting Oxygen bottles and to serve other needs. Survival is the only option, and this knfie will ensure just that. This is Buck’s standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance we harden to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.
